Alloy 6082 T651 Plate

Aluminium Alloy 6082 T651 plate, also known as structural alloy, is a medium-strength aluminium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance due to its low copper content.

Aluminium alloy 6082 is an Al-Mg-Si heat-treatable reinforced alloy with good formability, weldability, machinability, medium strength, and good operability after annealing. 6082 also has very good weldability but strength is lowered in the weld zone.

Aluminium Alloy 6082 T651 plate has the highest strength of the 6000 series Aluminium alloys. As a relatively new alloy, the higher strength of 6082 has seen it replace 6061 in many applications.

In plate form, 6082 is a highly machinable grade of aluminium which is why it has become the most widely used aluminium alloy for machining and high efficiency can be achieved.

Alloy 7075-T651 Aluminum plate is an excellent candidate for most processing techniques with one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios for heat-treatable alloys.

7075-T651 Aluminum plate is a lightweight material with a semi-smooth surface and a dull mill finish.

Aluminium alloy 7075 T651 plate is an aluminium alloy, with zinc as the primary alloying element. Because it uses zinc as its primary alloying element, 7075 performs exceptionally well in high-stress environments.

The 7xxx series remains the baseline among the highest-strength alloys available with strength comparable to steel and good fatigue strength and machinability.

When steel is too heavy but an application still requires strength, the 7075 T651 plate is the most common replacement because Alloy 7075 has a much superior strength-to-weight ratio than steel.

Aluminium alloy 7075 T651 plate has lower resistance to corrosion than many other Aluminium alloys but has significantly better corrosion resistance than the 2000 alloys.
